Shadow and Bone
by Leigh Bardugo
View in Library Catalog
book cover

Shadow and Bone is one of my favorites, if not my favorite, reads ever. The world was just so magical and fun. The romance was cute and entertaining. While I expected the plot twist, it was still jarring. I went from being wary of the 'villain' to loving him, to hating him at the end. Same with the love interest. Leigh Bardugo is a very talented writer and I admire her skills in writing. I highly suggest giving Shadow and Bone a try, even if you're not into fantasy. (I wasn't all that much until now.)

The Once And Future King

I honestly hate this book. But if you like king Arthur and overly complex writing style that leaves a lot of plot holes.

Understanding The Bill Of Rights

It was sort of boring to read but I did like how the book explained things

I'm Glad My Mom Died
by Jeanette McCurdy

A crazy, raw, honest rollercoaster of the early life of a childhood star that I grew up watching. And, honestly I'm glad her mom died too. Despite the obvious love that Jeanette still has for her mother, there is no denying that her mom was abusive on many levels. I'm glad that Jeanette is starting to heal from all that she endured.

The Anatomy of Motive

Explores the psychology behind violent crime, using real cases to analyze the motivations of arsonists, bombers, serial killers, and mass murderers, including figures like Ted Kaczynski and Timothy McVeigh, to help understand and predict criminal behavior. I loved the Netflix show MindHunter, so I was excited to read this and learn more about the people and events that inspired the show.

A haunting true story of greed and betrayal in the American West. It was sad to see the decay of Molly's family as this story progressed. My heart aches for her losses. I am looking forward to watching the Martin Scorsese adaptation of this true-event

The Adventures of Chatterer the Red Squirrel by Thornton Burgess was a really good story. I liked the part where Farmer Brown's boy made friends with Chatterer the Squirrel and fed him.

Titans United

This book, Titans United, is an amazing book. I loved the building mysteries and constant questioning ‘what’s going to happen next?’ This book is remarkable because of its amazing penmanship and gorgeous art, the characters all looked absolutely astonishing. Also I was captivated by the amazing script and story line which never failed to bore me. Along with this, it also had incredible action and new problems that required the titans to solve uniquely. In conclusion, this book is a five star book due to its exciting and beautiful work and you can practically feel all the love and hard work the authors put in.

Green River, Running Red
by Ann Rule

I really appreciate that Ann Rule dedicated a large part of this book to the victims and their Ives. Too often serial killers are held on a pedestal or admired to the extreme by hybristophiliacs. His victims deserve to be remembered as the people they were, not how they passed.
